Course failure due to unsatisfactory attendance (FI)

According to Resolution no. 17/CUn/1997, which regulates undergraduate studies at UFSC, students are required to attend at least 75% of the classes in a course. If you do not meet this requirement, you will fail the course due to unsatisfactory attendance (FI). In this case, a grade 0 will be assigned and you will not be allowed to sit for a retake exam.

Course instructors are responsible for recording students’ attendance and you can actively monitor your attendance records with them.

Failing a course due to unsatisfactory attendance (FI) can jeopardize your eligibility for scholarships, student tutoring, and exchange programs. Be sure to attend your classes regularly to avoid exceeding the allowed number of absences.
